If the have access to dirt they actually dont need any xtra grit
they can find everything they need in dirt.
That supplemental grit is needed if you feed them treats before they're allowed outside. If they're out on grass, they have access to all the natural grit they want -- dirt. No need to give them additional grit to the grit they already have under their feet. The first thing they do when they hit the grass is start pecking at the ground.
