Dead duck.. trying to figure out the cause

I have read that there is a E. coli vaccine available (Poulvac) that has shown great effectiveness against flock death with chickens from E. coli infections. Has anyone used this?

I have had a followup conversation with the pathology vet and was told to give my local extension a call and was provided a number to a poultry expert that could answer additional questions that I may have.
I'd still really like to hear if anyone out there has tried Poulvac with their ducks.

Did you call about anyadditional questions?

I use Oxine AH for disenfecting inside my duck geese and chicken houses. http://www.shagbarkbantams.com/oxine.htm

Thanks for your response. According to this paper ASC (acidified Sodium Chlorite) is very effective at kill E.coli (up to 6 log reduction at 500mg/L). I believe Oxide AH is 3.53% Sodium Chlorite (CS; 35.3g/L) so Oxide AH would seem to be pretty concentrated stuff. SC is a bit different than ASC because a acid (usually some kine of citrate) is combined with SC. I believe Oxine AH calls for one to add a oxine activator (citric acid) to become fully "activated."

From what I've read ASC and SC has similar biocide properties, but ASC if more effective at killing mold and fungi.

Below is a couple of papers showing how effective ASC as a wash on veggies when pre-exposed to E. coli:

I'm thinking of just buying Sodium Chlorite flakes (http://www.discovermms.com/index.php). I wonder if I could just make a drench solution and spray down the surface of the sand on a weekly basis to reduce bacterial load.
