TWINS!?! please please PLEASE help!

I agree with Jenna14. I am sure you are giving her plenty of attention, but if she grows up all alone and thinks you are her mom and never sees another chicken until she is old enough to hold her own in a flock, she will be very scared of other chickens, will be totally submissive towards roosters and they will take advantage of her and mate with her constantly. I bought a hen that was only raised in a pen with 4 other chickens, and when I tried to turn her loose with my 42 chickens, she was so scared and submissive that the roosters mated with her nonstop and tore her up. After she healed, I gave her to a friend with a small flock and no rooster. But a chick raised alone, will not integrate well with the rest of the flock. Is it possible that you could get electricity out to the coop and cover her brooder so the other chickens couldn't get in, but move the brooder out to the chicken coop? That way she would be used to hearing them and looking at them.

I have some chicks hatching tomorrow out in the coop. Their mom is the hen that originally was sitting on her egg, so I will put her in with them after they hatch.

She seems to like the other chicks so far. All four are moving out to the coop tonight, too rainy last night.

Awww. I am glad they seem to be getting along. I had alot of fun following this thread, and I am glad you had a successful hatch! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Thank you guys so much! You all were so helpful during the whole thing. I had a lot of fun talking to everyone, posting on this thread, and rading your guys' posts. I'll continue to post some pictures of her as she gets older on this thread.
