I have 14 button quail eggs in my incubator right now, they went in on August 13th. So, today, Monday, August 29th, is day number 17 in the incubator. Everywhere I read said that they hatch at 16 days, almost to the hour that they were put in!
At what point should I start to come to terms with the fact that none of them are going to hatch? Like I said, it's day 17, and I see no action whatsoever. I'm so sad!
My temp. has stayed at a very steady 99.5°, and my humidity has ranged between 40-50%. A few times it shot up into the early 60's, I think that's because it's been super humid the past couple weeks here in NY. After day 13, I bumped humidity up to 70% and stopped turning.
And PS, no, I haven't candled them. I tried within the first couple days (even though I really don't know what I'm looking for lol) and it was pretty much impossible to see inside the shell! Much harder than the turkey eggs I've candled before.
