Ok we have a Buckeye hen that has decided to become a mama. We marked the 5 eggs that she decided to lay on. I marked the days on the calendar. On day 23 she hatched a a little black chic. We closed her off from the rest of the flock so she could eat and take care of the chick. Poor little thing did not make it through day 23. She is still sitting on the other 4 eggs. It has now been day 25. I would like to take the eggs that are not hatching and try to put a few new eggs under her. Do I have to toss the 4 that she has been laying on?
