Poncha was attacked by a coyote. She has a puncture wound on her head, side of her face and bill. We sprayed wound cote on it and have isolated her in the garage within a large crate. She is not eating and rarely drinking. What else can we do?

Having a buddy with her may help too they can get depressed being alone. Be careful when forcing fluids in her mouth because they can go into her air sac and cause Pneumonia. best to just dribble along her bill or just inside the bill small amounts. Glad to hear she is doing better.We think the initial shock is over as she is now smiling again and wagging her tail feathers. She has eaten some peas but not drinking too much. We have used a turkey baster to force some water down her throat. She has a slimy mucus coming from her mouth. We have also started a course of antibiotics. I will wash her wounds multiple times a day as well. We have also used vetericyn to clean the wounds. We hope that we got a head start on any infection so now we will just wait. She is isolated In our garage where it is warm and she has clean bedding and water.
That could be the antibiotics they can make us feel yucky you might try making her feed soupy [just try a little first] put something in it she really likes like dried meal worms or smashed peas. etc and see if you can entice her to eat. If you can give her some company that may get her eating too. You may just have to try different things but you don't want her going too long with out eating. Tube feeding is alternate if she isn't eating soon.Thanks for the information, it is appreciated. So far Poncha is drinking normally again but still does not seem to have a normal appetite yet.
@Sundevill11
how is your duck doing today?
Hopefully this will help. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...ergency-and-supportive-care-updated-9-14-2016She was taken to the vet today. She is very weak, unable at times to hold her head up. She was given a shot and now it's a waiting game. She also won't eat.
