With my chickens
So I was cleaning out my chicken coop today when one of my chickens started having white foam stuff in their mouth. He just ate a grape and had a no crow collar on. After a minute he was flapping his wings and going beserk. I went over and took his collar off, but when I got it off he fell over into my hands. He was lifeless at that moment and I thought I lost him. My mom was nearby and massaged his throat and he finally started moving. I don't know if we should do anything else to him. We put him inside a box in our garage with water. What can I do to help him???

It happened 2 hours ago... He is still alive and is sleeping. I woke him up and he made a little clucking noise and then laid back down. He is quieter than usual. His comb and waddles are back to their color (earlier they were purple) and he has drank a tiny bit of water.

Sounds like you saved him. Just make sure the collar isn't on too tight if you put it back on him and if he is still filling out make sure you are routinely checking it to readjust if needed. I lost a Roo to strangulation from those collars a few weeks ago because I didn't keep up on readjusting it.

I think he was taking too big of bites out of his grape. I will never put the collar back on him. We do have another room that we use a no crow collar on, but he is smart and doesn't swallow stuff whole. I have to chop up my grapes now.

I took mine off my other Roo and now have a baby sock on my larger one. He can still crow but it reduces the volume and so far has drastically reduced the frequency of his crows. I'll probably be putting a smaller sock on him when he gets larger or will be bringing him in at night.
