Well, I am almost done with the goat stand I went out to build. I had to take a break to take one of my cock birds to a buyer. I like Jade my Easter Egger better than the blue Americana but for selling chicks in the future or breeding the Americana is the better choice so poor Jade had to go to a new home

If wound is clean and gaping I would put in a few stitches to hold it together. It will heal better and keep dirt out.
Make sure that it is not so tight though that if puss does develop it can drain.
Chickens do have magical abilities to heal remarkably well despite devastating wounds.
