Kristin, last week it hit 70°F. Half my birds were holding their wings out, standing in the shade, and panting.

Yep - just like people, it's adaptation. 70F is more like fall weather here...

Incredible. Same thing happens here, only it's more like putting a sweater on when it first starts going down to 50 again and then thinking 50 is roasting in the spring. No triple digit numbers involved. For instance - I'm sitting here in my den (which has a separate AC because it's a weird add-on room). It's set on 80F. I have on sweat pants and a short sleeved shirt, and after spending all day yesterday and today outside, I'm freezing my tush off in here - just turned it up to 84, and am going to get a warmer shirt. I probably would not have felt this way 4 months ago...

My air conditioner is small enough that you'd laugh at it, so some times in the summer it gets up to 85° in the house. Those are the days I don't sleep. Fans help, eventually.Well, I think the one constant is that it seems bad for you to try to have your indoor temperature TOO drastically different than the outdoor temperature when you have to go back and forth. So I keep things ~80ish in the summer inside, but set for 60s in the winter (though, to be fair, it's warmer than that outside many days, so the heat doesn't cut on very often.) I'd rather be cold than hot when trying to sleep, though. Sometimes it's so hot outside that the AC can't keep up and it's hot in the bedroom.
Night. Glad you survived.I am SOOOO glad I have a three day weekend with the holiday (and that I was able to get all the culling done in only two). Granted, I have a lot of chicken stock to cook and can tomorrow, but still...
I'm fading - heading out.

Aren't they lovely? I like them because they hide stains well. That's in addition to being soft and warm enough for down to below freezing, yet not stifling hot. Win-win.
(BTW, I have my plaid flannel shirt on now. Cozy warm!)
