How quickly do turkeys need to be butchered?

My wife heard a loud bang/crash out in the combination barn/equipment storage building this morning (8:30 ish) - and saw one of my turkeys fly through the screen window - the one that went through the window is fine - but I found another one dead on the cement floor - still hot (floor is cement, so would cool very quickly) - so I'm pretty sure that whatever the loud noise was killed the turkey. Not sure if it flew into the wall, or knocked some equipment on itself, or what. The dogs run in the yard, so maybe it spooked and did something stupid - not sure - but pretty sure it was traumatic and not illness.

Anyways - I had to run to work, so I threw the bird in garage fridge - is it okay to wait until after 5 to butcher - or am I going to have a spoiled bird?

Your biggest problem will be having the guts inside for that period of time. If it was me I would go ahead and clean the bird and dump the meat into ice water for a few hours and see how it smells after. Meat can start to go bad and his little as an hour
