Odd new egg color

I agree to keep one of the sons. I had a sex link rooster (one copy of the barring gene, like your younger boys) as my flock guy for years. I hatched out a lot of chicks from him, and also got a variety of colors, some barred and some solid. Mine was a brown egger, not an Easter egger, but I put him over some Ee hens. Got lots of cool birds.....including my handsome black and blonde rooster above, and these birds......

this was one of my favorite birds. She was the black sex link rooster over a silver laced Wyandotte hen.

What if the son doesn't throw that gene? As long as they don't kill each other, we plan to keep both of them for now. Meanwhile I am torn on the wyandottes. I love black/white birds but then the gold is striking too. Too many choices!!! LOL

The pea combed bird should have at least one blue egg gene, so you'd get mostly green egger offspring pullets.

You should get a gold and a silver laced Wyandotte--at least one of each.

Not that I'm an enabler or anything

. I just respect your desire for visual diversity in your flock!

That's good to know about his son. Since I have 2 that are nearly identical it will be a tough choice
Meanwhile........I have a short list of 4 hens that I want (after adding your recommendations) It's hard to keep the flock numbers down. LOL
Figure I'll get an EE hen for the blue eggs.
Silver lace
Gold lace
Maran
That should give me a nice rainbow both in eggs and in the yard. (and more eggs than I will know what to do with ugh)
