Our White Silkie just had 3 chicks today I've heard you have to separate the roster or he'll kill the babies is this true?

some roosters will and some won't. It just depends. If you choose to leave them together I would watch him closely with her and the chicks before leaving them unattended.

I've never had a rooster who hated babies. I've had ones who would show older chicks who was boss, but I've never had a rooster hurt a baby, and most seem to like them if they have much of a feeling on them either way. I've had roosters who were very protective of babies and showed them where to eat and even sheltered them from cold and rain. There are really nurturing boys out there

Watch him just in case, but more than likely, he's nothing to worry about.
