Ohh goodness. We got these turkey's last month and didn't ask any questions. Just went home happy. I assume they were in born in June. The tom Sam weights 7 kilo, Robin is 5 and Nami is 4 kilos.
Now I am sure they were not vaccinated against anything. 2 weeks ago they came down with Blackhead.
Now our Tom has Fowl Pox. I saw it and thought "well it's DRY so should be fine" Now I come home from 1 week away and it has turned WET.
Here are some photos.

First there were Black scabs on his head. Now his ( Left) eye is very red and the lid is swollen and it looks pussy but there is nothing coming out. His left side of the head is swollen. His right nostril is dripping goo (like yellow infected snot) like he has a cold.

He is still out with the girls eating like a champ and poohing. I have been investigating the pooh everyday after the Blackhead breakout.

We feed them fresh picked dandilion greens, clover and plantin every day. They also get very ripe pears and apples, plus acorns if they want them. AND dry turkey food with grit all day (they have an open trough).

I read this...Fowl Pox is a virus and cannot be treated with any antibiotics (which are all designed to fight bacteria not viruses); however, secondary infections are common with FP.

And so....My husband held him for the photos, i looked in his mouth, looks okay, doesn't sound like his breathing is bad.

Any suggestions?
Someone mentioned Iodine on all the sores.
I have an antiseptic cream that I made out of Bee's wax, coconut oil and tea tree oil. Can I use that on his sores?
Should I do anything about his eye? Drops? I have Homeopathic Calendula eye drops (anti-septic, biotic, and inflamitory)

I've had pox in my turkeys a few times. They look horrible, some can barely see, but all get better after it runs it's course in about 6 weeks. I would do nothing. Antibiotics are only recommended to treat any secondary infections that show up because of the stress of having the pox.

Is FP what my Tom has?

Fowl pox will have black scab spots, yours looks swollen, could be an infection but I'm not sure.

That is what my Tom looks like as well. Scabs on his neck and head and swollen face more on one side then the other, red eyes and scabed up snotty nose on both sides. I have been checking him every day and night when I bring them in. He looks better now, not healthy but better. The poo is better and he seems to be spending less time sleeping.

I have been giving them clean water every day, no added anything. But I think I am going to add some colodial silver this week and see if it helps.

I keep them happy with fresh clover from the field, over ripe pears and feed ( full of chili ).

If he is not better next week I will figure out how to get him to the vet. OldhenlikesDogs mentioned 6 weeks, so I will see what he looks like next week. Luckily the hens seem healthy enough.

My bird had fowel pox and it went away after 6 weeks but I put this treat ment on my tom called banixx it's the best stuff to use for wounds or stuff like that u can find it in tractor supply the guy that makes the puduct is from town he gave me a bottle and I tryed it it works for everything I spray it in my animals water to pevent things like that happening but it will go away and u have to keep there water CLEAN because if u don't and ur waters all dirty that will make ur birds fowel pox into wet pox and u don't want that to happen

Hi rottiesrme51
I am wondering how your turkey is and if you found out what was happenig to it's eye and why it's face was swollen?
I am going to the vet today as my turkey is not better yet. Still the same.
No more pox but still the swollen face and eye on 1 side like yours.
