Can anyone tell me what these spots are? There are tiny black specks on her comb and a bit larger spot on her wattle. I've read stuff about pox, favus, mites, etc...Not sure if it's something like that or if it's just peck marks/scratches. Any help or advice would be appreciated:)

There is potential for it to be dry pox. How long have you been observing these symptoms or spots? If a few days have passed and no other spots have formed there is a likely chance it is not pox will will spread rapidly. I'm fairly new to raising chickens but have read a few books so I am not the most knowledgeable with chickens. Of it begins to spread separate her before the scabs begin to ooze or fall off which will likely spread the infection.

I will also add that she is eating well & is still the first to come greet me/ eat out of my hand...seems her normal cheerful self! Just don't know what to think/do about these spots??

I am no expert on diseases but pox could certainly be an option.

Also could be that she has had a disagreement with other birds and they are actually tiny scabs from injuries. That also applies if you might have gnats or something else that might be biteing and making her bleed just a bit.

It is hard to tell by the photo. Maybe one of our medical experts will chime in.

She's pretty.

Thank you Puddin Fluff!

I was actually wonder about gnats as well or those terrible "no-seeums" as we call them here. Think it would help if I applied some type of ointment like Vaseline, Aquaphor, or antibiotic to see if that would deter anything that might be biting?

Dang! I think it is dry pox

Another one has them now. The pic below are of our other RIR named Penny. I gave them a crushed boiled egg earlier for a nutrient boost. She's acting & eating ok so hopefully this will all pass without too much harm.
