Posting for a friend...Does anyone know what this is and how to treat it? I don't know much about her condition other than having the pictures and that the hen is lethargic.

Finally some answers. She found a vet that would see her hen. He did some skin scrapings and it is a bacterial infection and a yeast infection. She's on antibiotics and also a special wash. Thanks for your interest!

If there is also a yeast infection, vaginal cream rubbed into to area on the face daily will help greatly. Cephalexcin internally is great for skin infection as might even neosporin (without the pain killer) also help, applied to the face. Probiotics in the water might help too. Many times a bird that isnt getting enough nutrition has a weaker immune system and is open to yeast and bacterial infections. So a round of a good vitamin supplement is advised. And if she is lowest in the pecking order, to make sure she gets her share. Keep up with worming if needed

Good luck with her! :)
