Pipped wrong place - help please

Wow! Interesting 36h... all 3 needed assistance.

Very cautiously followed the advice on assisted hatching. The 3rd hatched this morning. Small amount of dry-looking membrane seems to be stuck to the last ones umbilicus. I was going to wait until it had fluffed up befits taking a closer look/cutting it off.

I've just seen this now- congratulations!!

It's amazing the differences in hatches! I've had some birds out in a couple hours and other took over 24. Typically, if the chick takes too long (24+) it will be weak from struggling so long and it may not be strong enough to make it.

I know it's tempting to help your chicks out, but it's important to let them break free. It helps invigorate them and it ensures their membranes are properly separated. You can severely hurt your chick if you pull it out and tear blood vessels or the last bits of yolk!

That being said, I will help a chick if he dries to the egg and cannot break free. Moisten the membrane and make sure he can wiggle.
