Hi all thanks for the replies so far. I had read those links I wasn't really sure if just 2 chickens was a flock or just 2 chickens. I see the point about the wild birds not being chickens I assume because the chickens happily share their food with the wild birds and my dogs that they would maybe do so with another 2 chickens...? If I'm at the top of the pecking order along with my dogs seeing as we would pose the most amount of threat, could the new chickens not side together with the old ones safety in numbers sort of thing ? Why squabble over 2 tiny chicks when there much bigger things in their yard ..... Anyhow the lady text me and said she was starting them on medication for something she thought they had and would be another 7 days off.

Welcome to BYC! It's great to have you.

I wouldn't put three week old chicks with any adult bird, much less three week old Silkies. They'll need to be segregated until they are at least eight or ten weeks of age.

Welcome!

You have already received some great advice regarding integration but I just wanted to mention the risk of adding new additions without a quarantine period. If you immediately add new birds not only is there a risk of them being injured but if you have not quarantined them, there is also the risk of them passing something nasty onto your existing flock.

I hope you enjoy BYC; not only is it overflowing with lots of useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures about chickens, turkeys, duck, quail, Peas and pretty much any other feathered and non feathered friends
