Hawks

I've been told I've had hawks staring into my run while perched in the trees near it.
But there's no way they'll get through the netting in my run.
I used commercial salmon Seine netting and it's real tough stuff.
Predator proofing is worth every penny spent and minute used.

I'm actually relieved to hear your hen came back because I didn't think a Cooper's could kill a hen.

I hope she's only shaken up and ok otherwise! The hawk must have dropped her shortly after taken her and she ran for cover. Like everyone is saying, that's a lot for a hawk, especially the smaller end hawks. Check her really well for puncture wounds, especially around her back and sides.

A hen Coopers can kill a standard sized hen that does not fight back. It is a slow process.
