This is a five month old RIR/Ameraucana. Was hoping for a nice EE but suspect male.

Yes that is a definite male, you can tell by his shiny feathers by his tail and the way he stands, like he's looking out for predators.
 
Many EE's have yellow legs. Ameraucana have white skin but slate grey or willow legs depending upon standard feather color. Leg color dominance is very tricky. Usually you get green legs on EE's, but you can get yellow.

There is some evidence of beard on the bird, which could be a left over of an EE bred to a RIR as it is not very full. Also the comb is not a RIR single comb but a modified pea comb. Again typical of what you get with an EE cross.

So I can believe it is an EE cross with RIR....or possibly an Ameraucana with RIR (but more doubtful for reasons given above).

And I agree with others, it is all male. Tail feather colors and the red bars on wings nail it. Plus that much pea comb.
