Hi all!

My wife and I have reached the conclusion that we gotta have some chickens!
Our neighbor has a modest flock, and we enjoy the eggs she gives us. We've got a pretty good sized yard that is just begging for some livestock, so we figured, "why not"?

I've been lurking around for about a week, checking out the site, and realized I probably should go ahead and register so I can interact with you all.

We probably will build this winter and hopefully get started on our flock in the spring. Wish us luck!

Welcome!

How exciting! I recommend a visit to the Learning Centre; lots of good tips there:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

and some great coop ideas here if you do not already have any:

Finally, you might want to say hello on your local thread:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

I hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
