Devastated and need advice

I have someone coming out to set a trap tomorrow. Then I plan to work on fortifying the coop and run before spring.
 
Correct, but if you have a family unit, then knocking it all off may give you a reprieve and make you feel better. To be up front, if me I would not even waste money catching the first. Rather get to work upgrading coop and possibly look into how raccoons can be repelled. I have killed raccoons many times, but simply repelling is more cost effective by any measure, unless pelts become valuable again or you or a friend really like eating raccoon.
