New to quail

Hehe I have had them for nearly a month and I have a serious quail addiction now too :) your little monsters look adorable too I have 7 if have some pics on previous post if you wanna see them ! X :)

Hi Dani xxx, I checked out your little monstrrs and they are gorgeous. I got 7 also as I couldn't leave one behind. Unfortunately I lost 3 to a snake before being able to rectify the problem. I am just trialling my first eggs in an incubator. I will definitely post some pics if I am successful.

Hey

I did the same thing went for 6 hens and got 7 as didn't want to leave one by itself at the breeders but one turned out to be a boy all was going well till last week when one quail called dill got hurt she is still recovering in my house fingers crossed I can put her back in next couple of days wounds look a lot bettter

You have certainty done a wonderful job with your enclosure. I found that the one I made wasn't suitable as they just drop eggs wherever and I needed to crawl into the pen to get them. I now have them in a hutch arrangement until I can fashion a run of sorts that I can detatch. I will certainly need more space if any of my 16 eggs hatch. I want to hand rear this lot.

I purchased what I thought were female quails. Weeks went by and I didn't get any eggs (I live in Hawaii, so there's plenty of sun). Then they started making noise in the morning. My boyfriend vent sexed them and foam came out.

My females were males, which explained the no eggs and morning noises. Explains a lot!

Fab I got the classic one but take out the roosting bars as quail don't use them ! X it really easy to use and unlike wooden hutches don't need to worry about red mite plus they last 10 years plus and can be disinfected really easily I love mine and they are predator proof and they look really cute ! X :)
