Wondering what breed my chicken "Mable" is.

I think Mable looks very Black Australorp-ish except for the brown showing in her feathers. I believe Orpingtons were used to produce Australorps. Have you posted her photo at "what breed or gender is this?"

Is she laying yet? What color eggs? She is beautiful no matter what breed or cross involved.

I do believe you are correct about Orpingtons being used to produce Australorps.

No I have not posted in the other thread yet.
Yes she lays several times per week and there's are very light brown. She came from morayfield produce along with two other hens that are not the same breed as Mable. She also has a dodgy foot which she had when I bought her. I suspect she was stood on when being caught to be taken for sale. The 'ankle joint was easily twice the size of the good one. One toe appears to have been broken or dislocated. The foot was very stiff but is improving. The good toes are becoming more flexible as the swelling goes down andvshe is beginning to use it for scratching now. The pad still feels soft. No hard areas and no scabs. Anyway I will post the new photos I took in the what breed thread.
