Hi, I have a nice fenced in backyard, but I want to expand into the wooded area behind my home. I have 2 Nigerian Dwarf goats, 40+ chickens, and will soon add ducks. I'm wondering what the most cost effective way to fence the area would be. I have a chainsaw that I will use to thin some of the trees. I want to let the goats gnaw away at the brush. I have been looking at 5 ft welded wire fencing with 2X4 inch spaces and t-posts from Tractor Supply. The fencing is sold in 100 ft rolls. I'm estimating over $400 for the project materials and I would really like to bring the cost down. I looked into electric poultry netting, but with my kids (the human-kind), I don't think it would be safe. Would the welded wire hold up to goats? Any suggestions on less expensive materials? Thanks.
