I had a small quail who lived alone then one day a patridge turned up in my garden and wouldnt leave i picked him up and put him with my quail even though he was much bigger but they got on along just fine and they were in a small house so a big run should be good for them

Chukars are cannibals and can't even live with each other,so I'm sure quail will be killed in the same cage.Unless your cage is huge and mean at least 100x100 for maybe 25 birds where quail can keep away from them. You would also need lots of brush piles for them to hide in.

I would say no. Despite people having rare success stories, I don't trust having quails with Chukar. Chukar are larger and will kill your quails. In my experience with quails, they are master of suicide - get their head stuck somewhere, lining up to say hi to predators etc. You put suicide creatures inside a cage with serial killers and you get a lot of dead corpse.

If you really want both, divide your run up into two and have them live side by side. If your run is not large enough to divide into two, then it's definitely not large enough to put them together into one.
