My duck is dead

Long story short: I put my duck in the pond at around 5 o clock and 20 minutes later when I went to close the birds in I couldn't see her in the coop, I walked around the land and then saw her lying on her back dead in the pond.

I'm not even upset that she's dead I just want to know how she died ?

The gander normally mates with duck and maybe could have drowned her ?

Or she could have died of a disease ?
I just don't know what it could be.

Sad!! He could have, and also a big turtle can grab them by the leg and hold them under till they drown. You see any signs on a leg?
