In the Brooder
Well, we've had chickens for 3 years now and have let broody hens hatch for us during that time. We finally decided to incubate and just finished our first try. It wasn't perfect, but out of 12, 9 made it to lockdown and 5 of those hatched! 2 didn't pip, 2 pipped and didn't make it. The ones that didn't hatch seemed to have a lot of fluid left. I can definitely say I can see why people do it over and over. I couldn't wait to start quail as soon as the incubator was free, and they are currently in now! It's so exciting! Here are some pics of the chicks I got! Any idea what kind they are? The eggs were given to me, and were big brown eggs
