Building a Chicken Tractor.

It would be for daytime grazing and then I would put them in their coop at night.

If you are going to build a tractor just for grazing, I'm assuming you want to: 1) control where they are grazing and 2) keep them 'protected' .

I would strongly discourage using wire on the ground for any tractor. When it comes to protection, you have to realize that inevitably a predator will attack... There is always a balance between what is safest, and what is easiest to maintain.

Just curious... why not have them live in the tractor or free range (supervised or not) from their coop? A middle ground would be electrified poultry fence that is EASILY movable, alongside some type of small 'tent'.

Designing a tractor that you can grab birds from daily seems like a challenge, but maybe not.

I've free ranged and tractored birds for the last 7 years... most of my decisions are based off what is most effective and efficient and aesthetic in that order.

The main reason that i can't let then free range or stay in the tractor is I dont and can't have a fence because of how my house is set up.
