Do I feed the chickens the Larva?

Like, feed the chickens the Larva, but leave some to become beetles and repourduce?
How old should the Mealworm be when I feed it to the hens?????

PLEASE HELP

Hello Yorkshire Coop,

Raising meals worms are one of the easiest things you can do. I ordered a couple thousand from Rainbow mealworms. I bought a couple plastic boxes (Sterilite 16"X11" X 7" high), a carton of oatmeal and I give them slices of carrots, celery, apple or potato for moisture. With in a couple of weeks you will see a few meal worms started to pupate. I then transfer the pupae into the second box with the same substrate with slices of vegies for moister. With in a 10 days or so, you will have darkling beetles. They will start laying eggs in the bottom of the plastic box, afterwards eggs will hatch into mealworms, I transfer the mealworms back into the mealworm box. I have been doing this for years, I never needed to buy mealworms again. I give my hens mealworms several times per week.

But my questions are:
How old are the Mealworms from Petco?
When can I give my chickens the mealworms? How long do I wait till after I get them?
When they are LARVA DO I GIVE THEM TO MY CHICKENS?

You can feed them at any age/size. A chicken foraging will eat any size bug it finds. It doesn't really matter.
Whether you choose to raise them for a mealworm farm is up to you.
If you want to buy them over and over, just feed them all. If you want to raise your own, only feed some of them.

Petco sells several sizes. What size did you buy?

I guess I don't understand your panic.
