Supposed to be 3 hens, but from two weeks we have been highly suspicious of one, it has just always been a little different. Stands more erect than the other two, approaches "threats" as if protecting the other two, larger in size, and the dominant bird in the group.

They will be 13 weeks in 2 days. This one makes some crow like sounds, not a cockadoodle do, but it is pretty loud. I barely hear a peep out of the other two though.

These are our first chickens, got them as one day old chicks, we are new to chickens and have a lot to learn! Does this one look like a rooster to you, or is it still too soon to tell?

Hi, welcome to BYC!

Definitely could be a boy. How are it's waddles compared to the others. Are the others obviously smaller? Also when you look at the wing, that's some dark color on there indicating boy. But the girls have nice lacing while the boys have more of a solid bar on the top of the wing area. See following image... Is male, for some reason I can't make yours out even though you posted lots of pics. (eyesight)

Ya, thinking boy... probably be grabbin' your girls before long.

Thanks for the welcome!! This forum has been super helpful so far, looking forward to learning more here!

This chick is much larger than the other two, wattles are much larger as well. Here is a picture of him/her with one of the pullets.

Tail feathers are quite a bit different as well. They are a beautiful emerald green and go straight up before curling over at the top.

He will still grow in a nice sickle feather and some saddle feathers....

Umm... your silver lace one has the exact barring I was taking about being boy!

Now I have to know what your other one looks like.

I agree that silver bird looks suspicious for a cockerel also. Better pics would confirm, and you might want to post your third bird if they all look that similar. You may have the Three Musketeers

. My luck they are both cockerels! The silver one is the smallest of the 3 birds. The lacing has always been messy, amd it's the only one with a pea comb rather than rose comb. Unnnnlesss I am wrong about their comb type too! Lol! I'll take some better pictures of all 3 tomorrow and post to see what you all think!

Lol!! My luck they are all cockerels! I'm pretty sure the 3rd bird is a pullet though.
