What to feed broilers?

My local feed store recommends flock raiser, which is 20% protein crumbles, for the first 3 weeks and a finisher for the remaining 5 weeks. They do not carry any broiler-specific feed. Both are the same price ($19/50 lb bag). Does this sound right? First year raising meat chickens, and I'd like to have all the feed already bought before they get here. I'm starting off with 25, I've read they'll eat about 13 lbs of feed over their lifetime, so about 325 lbs overall, or 7 bags. Sound right? TIA!

Your feed store is suggesting a good combo of feed. I personally would not buy that large of quantity at a single time, unless the logistics to the feed store were limited. The other thing that some meat bird raiser do is feed 12 hour, and off to sleep/rest 12 hours. The chickens do grow slower, but tend to be healthier. Some of these super stuffed chickens that eat 24 hours die before their time. Some develop other issues. BTW. 25 broilers will provide you with much fertilizer. Be prepared with enough bedding. If you will raise them in a tractor, move them often so your grass does not burn out. I have read that recovery time on burned out lawns can take up to 2 years.
WISHING YOU BEST....

Thank you, I do plan on doing 12 on/ 12 off and they will be in a tractor getting moved 1-2/day. The entire point is to have meat that I know was treated humanely so I'd rather have slower growth than heart & leg issues :)
