I got a new batch of eggs and when I left it was below 99.9 and i came back after turning it a hair and it was up to 110. I just got them. They ace been in a bator for less then 8 hours. Are they dead?

How long do you feel they were at 110? What did you do---tweek it after putting the eggs in?

Yes and like maybe 4 hours? I've got it down to under 99.9 but the red light is still on so it's trying to get back up

They might be dead----if I had other eggs I would start over. You know you need to have your incubator set before you put the eggs in and it should run the better part of the day to make sure it is stable with the egg turner in and running then When you add eggs the temp will drop but should get back to its set temp in less than 24 hours so never tweek until at least a day later. Shouldn't have to tweek it but might a touch.

The internal temperature of the eggs changes much slower than air temperature. Keep incubating and by 3-4 days candle them for signs of development. You've got nothing to lose at this point.

This is exactly what I did. It had dropped when I put the eggs in and thinking it wasn't going to get back up I turned it just a touch and it went up to 110. But like I said only for about 4 hours. This morning when I looked it was down to 97.5. Not sure if I need to touch it again or will they even hatch at that degree

I'm just really sorta freaking out. I know that you arent Suppose to tweak it and it'll warm back up but I was thinking properly. I'm hoping I didn't kill them. I exchanged some of the ones in there for new ones. Just a couple to see if I made a mistake. But now I'm worried about it being below the hatching degree.

Its hard when the thermostat has been moved, but you just got to relax----keep the top closed for a day and let it stabilize--making sure its not to high. Then tweek it up just a touch----any time you move it after the eggs have warmed---you need to allow a few hours before you tweek it again---but every time you turn it---only turn a hair width and keep checking it every few minutes---never tweek just before going to bed or leaving the home for a while. You can get it back right, but not if you keep opening it and adding cold eggs.

Eggs survive colder temperatures much better than hotter ones, natural example being momma hen getting off the nest to feed and etc.

Good luck :D
