We are new chicken owners. Our Cochin went broody and successfully hatched 4 chicks. She is still sitting on 7 I hatched eggs. It's day 23 approximately. How can we tell if any more are going to hatch? We chose to house the chicks in another space. Can we reintroduce the mama to them or is it too late? The chicks are 3-4 days old.

Congrats on your chicks!

I would put the chicks back underneath the broody,I have done this a few times and have never had a broody reject them, although it is possible, I have also put incubator chicks under a broody and they haven't been rejected, you should know straight away if she will accept them back, I would leave the eggs underneath her for a couple more days just to be sure, you could always water candle the remaining eggs to see if the chicks are still alive as long as none have pipped or you could try to candle the eggs normally and look for any movement?
