This is a horrible picture but we just found this tree in the woods. I don't think it's Native and wondering if the flowers are anything to worry about with the chickens. This tree is so familiar to me it's driving me crazy and I just can't place it. Reminds me a bit of a Shefflera. Pink/red flowers and leaves with 6 prongs. Anyone recognize it?

Putting your location will help.

It sure does look like a Mountain Laurel. I hadn't even considered it because they don't usually grow here but I think that's what it is. If so a bird must have pooped out a seed or something. It's the only one we can find here.

Buckeye. The nuts are poisonous (to humans anyway), but are generally the size of chickens head. So I don't think you have to worry about anyone eating them.
