April-May 2017 hatch-a-long

I am in Day 9 and tossed out 10 eggs tonight. Most we clears but some were blood rings and one had a floating air cell (not shipped, from my own birds). So I am down to 27 in the incubator.

I have 55 eggs in on day 16 (candled) down from 72 I'm day 10 and I have been trying to get the humidity down... it's 67 and has been the whole time... they were fertile swimming around and looking on day 12... however the humidity will not come down even with only one water cell filled ,(our ambient humidity is probably 80° outside, where I live) ... am i too late? Are they all doomed? Probably $75 worth of eggs.

Can you get the water out of that one channel? I have added zero water in mine and it's still reading 43%. How do the air cells look?

I have been told to dry it out till they pip... I candles a few of them last night and the top (rounded end) 2/3 was all but black (could see movement) and the pointed end was clear with veins... did not look at the air cell, mainly because I didn't really know what I was looking for

We have (13) Muscovy Ducks eggs that appear to be progressing fairly well. 35 day to hatch in an awful long time. Usually let the ducks hatch them on their own but they started to lay quite early this year so we just collected a handful (about 30) and wanted to see what was cooking in the 'love' department since we have one drake and five ducks and two of the ducks want nothing to do with him but the other three just can't get from under him (he is too much). The eggs are in a HovaBator with an automatic turner. They should go into lockdown on Friday May 19th with an expected hatch day of Monday May 22nd. Our first attempt with duck eggs in an incubator. We do have 2 ducks on separate nests with a combined total of about 15 eggs between the two of the. They are just getting started. Once the weather warms, the egg production should pick up and all 5 ducks should start making their own nests. The ducklings from the incubator and those under "MOM" will all be for sale. Here are a couple photos of recent (last year & previous year ducklings) hatched naturally.

We had an Easter weekend hatch! 15 Light Brahma, 1 NH or RI Red and 2 possibly Easter Egger/Olive Egger/Americana! ALL are still here and ALL are available for sale. No shipping. Still trying to work out this posting thing....reply...post a reply...start a new thread etc. This posting was in response to ELIZABETHIU42 question asking if anyone has had any chicks hatch. Sorry.

Ok... I got home emptied the water out and dried completely... forgot to candle (hockey playoff season, it is what it is) humidity dropped and all was well (forgot to change alarm settings) 3:00 am alarm is waking the dead! I put water in a small lil 2"x2" cell to try to get it up to about 40% so the **** alarm would shut up... got up this morning... 67%... smh... emptied water again, dried it all out,CHANGED THE **** ALARM SETTING and candled a couple... (didnt want to monkey with em too much since I've been in there so much the last couple days) the air cell size look pretty good to me on the ones I candles (about 1/5 the size of the egg) eggs are otherwise mostly black. I presume cuz there's a chicken in the way of the light... we'll see what happens... tbc...

At least you won't have any trouble jumping the humidity up for hatch time....... Good luck
