Chirping
So, my chicks are 7-8 weeks and 4 weeks old. I'm noticing since they are all together, outside, in their coup/run that they seem less and less interested in the starter feed I've had them all on since getting each batch. They do eat it, but some days there is right much left when I go back to feed again. I do scatter a handful or so of old fashioned oatmeal on the ground and that disappears quick! I'm wondering if switching to maybe scratch grains would be ok for them or do they truly need the starter? They get treats about every other day (boiled egg, imitation crab meat, cooked plain ramen noodles, leftover veggies from our meals). I want them to be happy and healthy. I think they like "foraging" better than eating crumbles from a pan, and I don't think throwing the crumbles on the ground would work as it would just look like dirt....Any suggestions?
