Hi! We brought home 3 Pekin ducklings 2 weeks ago. They have grown well and quickly. The last few days 1 of them has been sneezing and another one started panting yesterday. We give them fresh water 4 or 5 times a day and have kept them around 80 degrees. We have taken them out to their Duck Den for a while on warm days. This is our first adventure with ducks. I am concerned about them with the new issues. I also noticed that they have been having runny stools. They are fed 20% starter feed for ducks. We haven't introduced treats to them yet. Should I look at adding something to their water or have them looked at by our vet? We are super attached to them and worried!

Thank you!

Can they stick there whole bill in water? Ducks must be able to clear their nostrils. Do you have heat on them still? Are they inside? They pant to cool themselves. Try adding a touch of apple cider vinegar to their water bout a tbsp per gallon to help digestion. If they have not been able to blow water and stuff thru their nostrils to clear them. You may want to run a shallow bathtub or sink of water and let them get in...Make it warm and dry them off immediately put under heat after so they don't chill. Watch them closely baby ducks tire easily and can drown just make sure water is shallow enough they can stand and give them only 5 or 10 mins in water.

It sounds like they are too warm....Not sure where or what your Brooding them in..?....Ducklings do not require as warm temps like Chicks....The poops could be caused from being to warm....They needed water deep enough to dunk their heads in to clean their nares and eyes many times a day..:)......

Good luck....

Cheers!
