My chicken is a bantam Silkie, when she was younger we believe she had an obstructed crop due to a large hard lump on the side of her chest when she was a chick. She's okay now but she grew up sickly and smaller than the other bantams we have and occasionally has trouble keeping up with them.

However she's been laying eggs without shells. She lays eggs three times a week, and is the third egg like this in the past 6 weeks. So it's not an abnormal egg everytime, however it's fairly frequent.

Do we need to give her supplements and provide her with vitamins or yogurt? Or is this ok for her and we should just leave her be?

If she's consistently laying eggs without shells I would expect something is wrong with her shell gland, especially since she's already has other health problems. There's nothing you can really do except feed her a good ration and keep a separate bowl of oyster shells for any calcium needs.

I have stopped keeping silkies because of the occasional off ones who need special attention. It happens more frequently in silkies than other breeds.

Thank you so much, that's very helpful. We have 6 other chickens and she's the only one with issues so it'd make sense it's a Silkie thing. Anyways, thanks again c:
