My family and I have owned poultry and fowl all my life. I currently have been breeding Easter Eggers from my grandpa's original flock since 2003. I LOVE fluffy faces and blue and green eggs. This last fall though I rescued/purchased some featherless chickens. One turned out to be a fabulously colored cockerel with the sweetest personality I have ever met.

Now I want a whole flock of him with fluffy faces that lay blue and green eggs.

So I've joined you here to get help understanding all the genetics behind feather color in order to obtain my fluffy face dream!

I believe he is a Speckled Sussex. This was him after his feathers grew back and he was out of quarantine. He is a big, beefy, rooster now but is still very sweet and personable.

Hi and welcome to BYC - I'd say he is a speckled sussex also - very handsome fella indeed!

I love his color/pattern. I'm hoping crossing him with my Easter Eggers will give me some chicks with his color.
