I know how you feel. My 2 current layers were really spoiling me then surprised me by not laying. Red, the frequent layer didn't even lay that late yesterday so I expected something considering her history. Oh well, let them have their rest. They are lovely pets as much as
dispensers.
I got 2 eggs today...I'm not concerned with the fact that the egg production has gone down lately, but we're in weather conditions where it's mid 20-30s, daylight is between 8AM to 5PM, so I understand it all. I just got used to, and spoiled, when we getting over a dozen eggs a day during the summer season...and that was from my established hens. Since then, we've added 28 chickens to the flock, so we have bright days ahead...I'll let them rest this winter.I know how you feel.
