All of this is why we fled behind the Redwood Curtain when we retired! Too many years of triple-digit, dry, windy summers and wildfire dangers in SoCal. Our summer days & nights range between the 60s and 50s, and the locals joke that coastal Humboldtians will burst into flame if it ever reaches 75F. Thankful for that big, cooling Pacific Ocean nearby and grateful for overcast mornings and fog. [Winters are mild and very wet.] Our chickens have it easy, weather-wise.
