incubating emu eggs-need advice please!!

I have 5 in my little hovabator, dutifully hand turning! I keep it at 97 degrees and 35% humidity. We are at day 19. I read that tapping replaces candling but I have no idea about that. This is just a silly project to see what happens! I think I will wait I while longer and try listening with a stethoscope for heartbeats. Good luck to you and keep us all posted .

Did they hatch? I'm seriously contemplating buying some emu eggs but all I have is a hovabator, too, and I'm trying to find out if it's big enough to still have sufficient air circulation around these huge eggs!
