I'm pretty sure my game hen has Botulism and has been doing a good job of trying to recover. Lost her Sister 2 weeks ago same reason, didn't know it then though).
She will eat on her won with TLC and favoriate foods. Will try epsom salts and water later this afternoon. Still in recovery and would like any input or experience from you knowledgable folk. Yes i did locate the source, ( beleive it was from alge in drinking water. Thanks.

Botulism C is from bacteria in standing water, or eating a rotting carcass. The algae is the result of excess nutrients and lack of oxygen. Apple Cider Vinegar is used as a treatment if it is not too far along. Chicken houses use iodine to treat it but I do not remember the formula. Runny stools are the first sign and paralysis follows leg, legs and neck. Then as it progresses the lungs. It is more common in warmer weather.

Thanks for the info. Did research the Merck online (great resource).
Here's my observation. It appears there is improvement, slow, but still there. Can eat on her own, some lack of pecking coordination but seems to have no problem swollowing and her poops look good, form and color wise. Walks around a bit, some stumbling. Always better after special food and tlc, is this a loosing battle or is there a good chance she'll pull through with continued care?
