What is the age, breed? And does the dog have any pre-existing conditions like liver or pancreatic issue?

Many dogs eat feces including their own and have no problem. However, you do have the issue of internal parasites passing through the dogs system. And young puppies who have never eaten such a thing may develop diarrhea as the immature immune system adapts to the challenge.

Your dog's extreme reaction to chicken poop is rare. It does happen and I wonder if your dog has a sensitive stomach, and has done this before when introduced to a new food item?

I hope your pet is recovering and you are doing the right thing by keeping him out of the poop!

i just think its the food you guys are feeding your dogs.... almost all dog food brands take the stuff that people cant eat and put it in dog food.... like horse meat, goat udder, chicken guts, pig guts, cow brains, like that so when they eat that kind of stuff then they smell chicken poop and think its the same thing... (i would really start changeing my dogs food too raw meat which is WAY healthyer then what ther getting in there dog food... cuz when god made dogs they were in the wild and they would kill an animal and eat the good meat out of it and not the bad meat.. but with dog food now they are eating ''poop'' and they dont even know it... cuz you dont see a wolf eating horse/turkey poop lol

Well, in the wild, wolves actually eat almost all of the animal, in fact, the brain is one of the most delicious and nutritious parts of the animal, the alpha eats the brain most of the time. But I definitely agree with you, dogs should be fed meat that is unprocessed and not filled with wheat and soy products. Kudos for choosing a healthier diet for your pets!

This is a very old thread here guys. The OP has no doubt figured all this out.
