The ducks are open mouth kinda pant looking thing. not all the time but off and on and mostly when the settle for the night in the brooder.
Are they snoring? Panting? mouth breathing??? I just don't know....

Ducks can pant, but you see it in babies more than adults. You said they are in a brooder do you have a heat lamp? You may want to move it away a little they may be a little hot and you don't notice it when they are on the move.

Maybe someone else will come along that can give you a better answer.

Every one on here is so helpful and I just wanted you ALL to know it is appreciated.

My buff/khaki mutt Uno does this. A little play time in the sprinkler takes care of it.

How old are your ducks, and where is the brooder? If they are over 1 or 2 weeks and indoors, they shouldn't need a light at all. Mine didn't have a light inside after their first week, and they were fine. I had 2 1-week-olds and 1 2-day-old in the same brooder. The 2-day-old never had heat, other than its broodermates' body heat. They were in the spare bedroom, and all were fine.
