Where I live, there isn't somewhere where I can do that, because as a civilian now a days, I am not allowed to do that.... Just transporting a captive wild animal (game animal no less) will get me in trouble with the law from

1. The DNR
2. The state of michigan

I dunno how much they could throw at me, but last I heard it was in the thousands and some jail time. That has been a few years since somebody local got in trouble for that. They were finally won over....... live with losses to your livestock or take the tombstone route. It's a hard world for a predator.

I guess I fall on the tree hugger side of the line. I would only kill a predator as a last resort - the circle of life, man. IMO this "if it is inconvenient, eliminate it" state of mind shows the selfishness and shortsightedness of the human race. If any species on this planet is overpopulated, it's people. JMHO. I'm aware it isn't popular here - no need to remind me.

If your local AC will do this, then that's one thing. It's another for Bob* to decide to trap and animal and dump it someplace "country" on his own. Many areas AC don't want to be bothered and will tell you to dispatch it yourself or to call back when it attacks a person. I've had a dog rip into my leg (unprovoked stray dumped there), the right answer is to not let it get to the point where you're in it's jaws.

* Noone named Bob was hurt in the making of this example. If you are named Bob, this is not talking about you personally, unless you are my EX husband Bob, who I would feed to a pack of dogs..... that's another story.

I totaly disagree!! If you have that big of a problem with them then call animal control or somebody who can do it legally and knows where to take them! They do not know better to not kill your birds or other animals! they are just going for the easiest pray! how is it fair to take away there life for dong wut they were born to do?!? Thats like somebody killing a person just becasue they are a human being! Now does that sound right to you?!?

I THINK NOT!!!!!

Austin, no one's saying shoot puppies for fun here, what they're saying is not to take a problem animal YOURSELF and drag him out to the cuntry to be someone else's problem. Either have animal control do it correctly (if they will) or else handle your problem yourself, instead of passing it to someone else's land. If someone's puppy is lost on my lawn I'll take it home, or put it in the spare pen and put up fliers, if the same puppy is attacking my livestock or kids, I won't give it a second try.

Austin, according to the Castle Doctrines, I can shoot a human being with lethal force if he is tresspassing and I believe he is intending to commit a felony........ That being said, would I do that? Not unless he is going to hurt me or my family and has me at a disadvantage.

As far as dogs/cats go.... I'll stop them if I can, but please reread the forum rules.... I do not want this thread to get locked because somebody is shooting from the hip so to speak.

I am not necessarily advocating killing all critters (didn't I say this already?) I was merely stating that relocating is illegal and immoral almost ALWAYS.

oops, saddi said it for me. nevermind.

All i wanted to say is that animals should have rights to. Sry if i am to much of an animal lover for you...lol I personal do not think it is right to go off killing animals just becasue they are being themselves. Im sorry if i over reacted. I'll try to tone it down. I just think all animals are adorable and should be able to live will humans in peae and without fear. lol

Wow Boyd got a pot of beans boiling LOL

I think the way we control wildlife is up to each person as long as it is within the law and not harming another in anyway.

FYI in Michigan a racoon can not be transported over county lines for release. Per the DNR.
