hens making SO MUCH NOISE!! Anyone else have this problem?

Even though chickens are illegal in my town, I have 6 hens.
Fortunately, they have a small coop in our basement and a pen outside. My DH built a ramp to the once used doggie door.
The pen outside includes the awesome chicken tractor built for me to house 2 chickens, (Yes I confess, I'm a chickenholic) with a pen and netting on top..a lot of hawks here.
I keep their food, water, and nesting areas in the basement to "muffle"food fights, the laying songs, and then some.
So far so good.
Can't wait till we move to the farm.
 
Did this ever get resolved? I'm in the same boat.(coop) right now. Every morning between 6:30 and 9:00 I have 2 in my flock that screech at each other. I read in another form that it's because I do not have a rooster and that the dominant hen is expressing her dominance. Is there such a thing as a silent Roo? I may get one just to shut her up LOL

A rooster will only add to the noise..and there's only one way to silence a rooster.
Chicken make noises, even the females, sometimes loud and on-going noises.
 
I have the same problem. My cochin has been making so much noise the last few day sqwaking all day on exept when i feed her treats. Il been trying to cut her back but now i think she is mad. Not sure. She hasnt laid a egg in 3weeks.
