Alfalfa pellets for my chickens?

I've been trying to figure out why my eggs taste like store bought so from what I'm reading here, they need more greens. I don't have much weeds or grass in my backyard. I give them the leaves from my peach tree but I guess that's not enough greens to get my eggs to taste farm fresh. Can I give them alfalfa pellets I saw at the feed store and how much should I mix in with their feed? I also give them some corn to get the yolk a bright orange but still look like store bought. What else can I do? Is alfalfa pellet the answer? Thanks.
Yolk color is not only feed related, but also breed related.
Heritage chickens lay darker yolks than hybrid chickens.
The only think that can really help you is fodder.

I have an arrangement with the owner of a small bakery and in return for eggs for his family I get all the unsold bread. Girls get bread made with blue black and raspberries, cranberries, apricots. etc. I also buy as many large pumpkins as I can afford and feed them over the winter. Just put a whole pumpkin down and they spend hours pecking and eating. I’m going to try the alfalfa cubes this winter. Most of my local stores already have arrangements with local pig raisers for their old greens but once in awhile I can get some outer cabbage leaves. I’m not above buying a few heads of lettuce if wallymart has them on sale. Good luck and be creative!

I have a few m2 (? sqft) where I have a hwc covered eating plot. With grasses and herbs. Because the chickens can’t scratch in the soil the roots don’t get damaged. They eat from the top only.

If you like orange yolks you can feed them red paprika’s and carrot 🥕 (carotenes).
