I knew I felt my ears burning.I'm very surprised chickengeorgeto hasn't commented on this...its illegal to poison animals with golden malrin.
anything that drinks it will die and anything that eats the carcass will die...etc
I have never intentionally used fly bait for any purpose other than to kill flies. I don't know if this fly poison will kill anything else but I suspect that it will. About 60 or more years ago I got into bird watching. I didn't have any bird seed or the money to purchase some so I swept up the spilled scratch grain between the cages in one of the layer houses and put that in my homemade bird feeder. The birds around the farm started dropping like .... well they started dropping like they were flies. I was told that the reason was the granular fly bait used to control flies was in the waste grain and pellets. This was not one of my better moments.
I know of people who have used Temik to control predators around free range chickens. If the user is careful and checks his bait stations often there is no reason to be concerned with secondary poisonings. I have been told that a chicken thief sized animal will seldom get its nose out of the bait station before rigamortus sets in. Just pick up and bury the coons and possums before anything finds them.
Back when I could buy it I used Temik to control nematodes in cotton which is or was its labeled use. The stuff scared the
bejeebers out of me. I unlike so many others have walked the walk and talked the talk when it comes to pesticides. That is one of the reasons that I am convinced that you are basically full of it when you condemn GMOs out of hand. There is some real wicked pesticides out there and if the population gets hungry enough it will once again be spread and sprayed wholesale on food crops. In fact if my opinion of human nature is correct, city folks will be paying good money for the privilege of getting on a high cycle spray rig and running over green protester types. Hunger turns people into savages, but never into saints.
