Salmon Faverolles tinted eggs?

I did search around looking for pictues of the tinted eggs. I understand that the EE lay various shades but what color do the Salmon Faverolles lay. All the sites say tinted?

Any pictures?

Are these good laying hens?

Tinted means very light brown... a beige or a tan. I've actually seen eggs from a few different lines of Faverolles, and some were very light brown (tinted) while others were what I'd call a medium brown.

Most Faverolles will lay a light brown egg.
 
Sorry... I forgot to answer your other questions.

They're supposed to be good laying hens, but certainly less than say, Rhode Island Reds or production breeds. This chart will give you an idea of how they compare to other breeds insofar as laying and other qualities. There are also links to pictures there. They're one of my favorite breeds.

THanks for explaning what tinted is. I thougth maybe slightly pink or blue ish...not sure.

I have seen the henderson chart but he also says tinted.

Great picture of your hen. I love to see them out grazing and scratching in the grass - or tilling it up

I hope her eggs are as pretty, but she's not quite laying age, yet. As you can see, these eggs were quite dark (in comparison to what you think of as a tinted egg, usually as Cyn says cream colored or very light brown). They were much darker than any of the other Faverolles eggs I've seen. Best stock, too.
 
That I don't know, overall. This was definitely the specklediest I've seen. I've seen a few speckled eggs from Faverolles, but I don't think it's something to count on.

As I understand it, when a hen lays speckled eggs, she'll probably lay similar eggs every day... that is, it's less common for one egg from a hen to be speckled and the rest not. They're usually consistent to the hen.

I don't even know if it's something that can be passed on or not, but I'm excited to see if she throws speckles when she starts.

I think there are some breeds that commonly lay speckled eggs, but I can't think what those are.

I'm with you, wooden pony. I love the puffy cheeks--so cute!
